Our European procurement function translates business objectives into a sourcing strategy. This is what helps deliver our competitive advantage.

The function has responsibility for:

  • Strategic sourcing of all direct material and indirect spend.
  • Monitoring and reporting market fluctuations and their influence on the key cost drivers of all Heinz products.
  • Identifying and mitigating market risks and demonstrating the best ongoing position for Heinz.
  • Assuring that we have the most qualified suppliers in our portfolio  ensuring that they deliver to defined quality and service levels and maintain supply to our production facilities. This involves developing strategic relationships with select suppliers.
  • Working closely with supply chain, sales and marketing to drive optimised costs and cash for all strategically sourced items.
  • The function also feeds into our commitment to innovation by identifying new types of materials and methods of packaging with our suppliers. And in line with our focus on the environment, we actively encourage the business to use raw materials that support sustainability in the longer term.
  • Developing careers through the procurement function as well as becoming an exporter of talent to Supply Chain and Commercial functions.
